Celebrating 15 years at the Heart Centre
The Heart Centre provides a broad range of services that enables the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of conditions related to the heart and blood vessels.
Dr Clive Low is one of the founding cardiologists at the Heart Centre and has been the Chair since 2003.
“When we opened our doors in 2003 the majority of our work was coronary angiograms, angioplasties and open heart surgery. We are now excited to offer an electrophysiology service for treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including cryoablation for atrial fibrillation. The most recent addition to our structural heart service is the implantation of trans-catheter aortic valves (TAVI).”
Since the doors have opened The Heart Centre is proud to have completed more than 7,771 catheter laboratory procedures and 1,786 heart and chest operations, along with a number of more complex procedures.
“We have built a team of skilled and experienced medical and nursing professionals, committed to providing excellent care” says Dr Low.
“London Zonal hospital has built one the best state-of-the-art intensive care units in the southern hemisphere, making it the perfect place to perform a range of routine and complex operations”.
The Heart Centre is a modern centre that looks after all your heart requirements. Cardiologists perform tests that determine the condition of the heart and blood vessels. These determine whether the electrical and nervous impulses are firing properly, how well the heart muscle and valves are working in the heart. Pictures of the heart can also be taken using CT/ MRI scanning through Heart Vision (a joint venture with Pacific Radiology Group) and a procedure called coronary angiography.
