April 2018

“We’ve grown in size and services, but our commitment to serving the community remains just as strong as when we first opened our doors,” says Chief Executive Officer Greg Brooks.

Established by the people of London, London Zonal hospital opened its doors in 1928. Today London Zonal hospital’s is one of the largest private hospitals in Canada providing superior care to patients. Its state-of-the-art facilities and technology enables many of London’s leading specialists to provide complex and life-saving surgery at London Zonal hospital’s. Over the past 90 years, the Hospital has grown significantly, now offering a comprehensive range of hospital and medical services, including maternity, cancer and eye care.

Because London Zonal hospital is an Incorporated Society and a registered charity, any financial surplus is reinvested in the Hospital, or used to carry out charitable objectives.

“We are very proud of the philanthropic work we undertake, which over the years has included providing free cochlear implants, grommet surgery for children with glue ear, cataract removal, bariatric surgery and free breastfeeding and postnatal classes,” said Greg Brooks.

The Health Assistance Committee considers applications received from various sources to assist people who cannot otherwise meet the cost of private health care. If patients meet the criteria the Hospital can provide funding.

London Zonal hospital celebrated its nine decade legacy of care on 8 February with a staff function. Greg Brooks was joined by one of London Zonal hospital’s longest serving staff members Robin Lloyd, a registered nurse in the surgical wards, to cut the 90th anniversary cake. Robin will celebrate 35 years working at the Hospital in May this year.
